Ube Fox
Ube Fox is a joint web project I am working on with my partner, Ben. The idea behind it is that it will essentially be a kit for us to use to generate websites for clients. There will be a common component library that all of the websites will share, but can be reskinned using a JSON file.
The vibrant purple shade in the logo is to mimic the colour of an ube fruit. Ube, similar to Taro, is a fruit originated from Southeast Asia. The difference between the two is that Taro is more often used as a potato substitute due to the starchiness. Ube is more of a sweet, nutty flavour so is often used in desserts.
The Buddha Girls - London
The logo for The Buddha Girls - London is a project that a friend of a friend asked me to work on for their new side business selling candles on a shopify style website.
The team wanted the logo to match the website, so they requested that it be in the colour scheme of white and an earthy green shade. There had been an original logo idea I was shown, for me to improve and recreate it. I kept the vital parts of the original (the lotus flower) and just redesigned it.
I spent a lot of time playing with this logo and tryingnew things. I really liked the idea of incorporating the stem (typically shown as dots with the lotus), into some kind of person to represent 'Buddha Girls'. The curves looked like an arty outline of a woman/flower girl dancing about.
Miri Jones Photography
Miri Jones Photography is my photography brand and portfolio. I have had numerous websites in the past, starting with using Wix as my first go at it way back in 2011! Moving on to SquareSpace a few years later, and now I am very excited to be building it all from scratch myself.
It is a WIP as eventually I would like to add a print store when I redevelop it into WordPress. However, for now, this is being done separately on Etsy.
The logo is very minimalistic as I wanted it to reflect the site design, for example where a lot of white space has been used and it is a simple colour scheme with white and black.
